I Was In A Bad Spot

Unfortunately, the overweight, washed up musician was me!! I spent years on a career in music that was just not my calling or passion. Although I really enjoyed creating music and sharing it - a deep soul need was lost. This lost nature led me into a lot of bad habits and laziness - drinking, smoking, feeling like a victim of life's circumstances. My selfesteem was very low and of course this affected my career and relationships and health. Ironically, most of the songs and music was an expression of this angst. Like most "artists" I was quite attached to my suffering - I was quite romantic about it.

I had many excuses as to why I could not succeed, with the painful childhood I had - but really the honest truth was, I was just out of touch my deeper core identity - I had lost connection.

The Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me

In 1998, I was 34 years old and my health was not very good at all. I was overweight, still drinking and had developed sciattica in my lower back. I was working at a good paying job (that I did not like) so thankfully I was able to afford to go to the chirpractor. After being told that I was going to have to go to a chiropractor for the rest of my life, I decided instead to take up the yoga practice I had abandoned a few years earlier.

Within a few yoga classes the searing pain shooting down my leg stopped and something else happened. I stopped drinking, smoking and began meditating again. Of course now that I know vedic astrology better, and the deities I am connected to, I understand which Gods (universal forces) were protecting me.

I Wish I Knew Then,... 

I wish i knew then what I know now. The truth is the divine universe was always protecting me - watching over me - hoping I would wake up to my higher Self. More than any other astrolgical phenomena, the Nakshatra deities and their myths and stories show the deep soul vibrations of each person.

Astrology does not "create" these things in you - it just gives voice to them. it gives voive to the infinite, universal Self that is tangled up in the humdrum.  

The reason we are so soul-starved in this modern world is because there is nothing giving voice or permission to our Soul's dignity. Infact, everything around us tells us that this is foolishness, nonsense, etc. But if you are reading this, you must know better.

Maybe I am an idealist, but I would like to see everyone connected to their truthful self and vibrating on this higher frequency.
